To the west and just past Julian on Hwy 79 is the small town of Wynola. It is home to the Spencer Valley School District, one of the last remaining one-school districts in San Diego County. The present one-room schoolhouse was built in 1905 & additional buildings were added in 1987, providing more modern facilities.

Wynola features a variety of delicious food & dining option, tasting rooms, as well as two of Julian's best attractions - Talons Falconry & Fort Cross.

Fort Cross Old Timey Adventures is a family oriented attraction offering hands-on activities such as; archery, tomahawks, slingshot range, petting zoo, music, art, agriculture, hayrides & more! Events are on-going throughout the seasons & this is a fun way to spend with the children.

Talons is a falconry & raptor demonstration with master falconer Cisco Clibourne. Enjoy an educational demonstration with falcons and Harris hawks. Experience the world's fastest animal the Peregrine falcon in action as he swoops to the lure from amazing speeds. You will have the special opportunity to get up close and personal with amazing raptors. Talons features its demonstrations at Wynola Pizza & Bistro. Stop by for a falconry show of a life-time and try some delicious pizza and craft soda. Red Barn Backcountry Spirits next door also offers craft beer & spirits, as well as some of our local hard cider.

One of our town's best culinary experiences is Jermey's on the Hill. Julian's only Cordon-bleu chef Jeremy Manly, offers farm-to-table cuisine & some of Julian's finest wine, cider & craft beer selection.

Just down the way at the Julian Station is another one of our local favorites, Manita's Taco Bar. Enjoy some of the best Mexican food that Julian has to offer. Julian Station offers 4 unique tasting rooms including; Julian Hard Cider, Julian Wine & Chocolate, The Cooler and Golden Coast Mead. The Station is also the home to numerous unique shops and boutiques, local art, antiques and our weekly Music at Julian Station music series with patio BBQ (all weekend) and live local music (every Sunday 1-4). Come in for a tasting and stay to shop or relax on our covered back patio with a stunning view of the Volcan Mountain Range. The Station is open every day from 11-5 except Tuesday's and Wednesday's (Mr. Manitas hours are 10-7) and Music at Julian Station takes place every Sunday from 1-4 pm. The Julian Station is a perfect family venue offering activities to keep the kids entertained.

First Friday is a monthly event at the Julian Station every first Friday of the month. We feature open mic, live bands, happy hour & more.
